As part of our community health initiative with HMI OneCare Clinic, patients can access selected eye screening packages at special community rates. This partnership aims to support early eye health awareness and help patients better understand when further assessment or follow-up may be needed.

Cataract Screening

Cataract Screening helps assess whether cloudy vision, glare, or age-related vision changes may be linked to cataracts. Cataracts can develop gradually, and early changes may not always be obvious. This screening checks visual function, eye power, eye pressure, lens clarity, and retinal health to look for signs that may be associated with cataracts.

This screening may be suitable for:

  • Adults aged 50 and above
  • Patients with blurred or cloudy vision
  • Those who notice more glare, especially at night
  • Patients with frequent changes in spectacle prescription
  • Anyone seeking a focused cataract-related eye assessment

If the screening suggests possible cataract-related changes, patients may be advised to see an ophthalmologist for a more detailed assessment.

This can help determine whether monitoring, updated glasses, or further cataract-related treatment advice may be needed.

Glaucoma Screening

Glaucoma Screening helps assess for signs that may be related to glaucoma, including eye pressure changes and optic nerve appearance. Glaucoma may not cause obvious symptoms in the early stages, so screening can be useful for patients with risk factors or concerns about eye pressure and peripheral vision.

This screening may be suitable for:

  • Adults aged 40 and above
  • Patients with a family history of glaucoma
  • Those with diabetes, high eye pressure, or high myopia
  • Patients who notice peripheral vision changes or visual disturbances
  • Anyone seeking a focused glaucoma or eye pressure assessment

If the screening shows raised eye pressure, optic nerve concerns, or other findings that may require closer evaluation, patients may be advised to see an ophthalmologist.

A more detailed review can help determine whether further tests, monitoring, or glaucoma-related management may be needed.

Glaucoma Screening — $48 nett

Diabetic Eye Screening

Diabetic Eye Screening helps assess for diabetes-related changes in the eyes before vision is affected. Diabetes can affect the small blood vessels in the retina, sometimes without noticeable symptoms in the early stages. This screening includes vision and eye power checks, eye pressure testing, retinal photography, and an optometrist consultation with a screening report.

This screening may be suitable for:

  • Patients with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
  • Patients recently diagnosed with diabetes
  • Those with long-standing diabetes who have not had a recent eye check
  • Patients with blurred or fluctuating vision
  • Anyone seeking routine diabetic eye screening or a second opinion

If the screening suggests possible diabetes-related eye changes, patients may be advised on suitable next steps, such as closer monitoring, further retinal imaging, or review by an ophthalmologist.

This helps ensure any concerns are assessed appropriately and followed up where needed.

Diabetic Eye Screening — $19 nett

As part of the HMI OneCare community health initiative, eligible patients can access Diabetic Eye Screening at Eagle Eye Centre @ Ang Mo Kio at a special community rate.
