Dr Lim Wee Kiak

Dr Lim Wee Kiak graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Masters degree in Medicine(MMED) and two specialist postgraduate qualifications in Ophthalmology from UK (FRCS Edinburgh and FRCOphth London) in 1998. He completed a year of overseas fellowship in Uveitis Ocular inflammation and immunology in the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA in 2003. He is a member of the American Uveitis Society, International ocular inflammation Society and the International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG).

He has given over 50 invited lectures at regional and international eye surgeon conferences, published 26 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is the author of 9 book chapters. He is concurrently the deputy Director of National Healthcare Group Eye Institute and head of department, Ocular inflammation and uveitis service at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, visiting consultant to Singapore National Eye Centre and adviser to Singapore Opticianry Practitioners.

Recently in August 2009, Dr Lim was appointed as Chairman of Uveitis and ocular inflammation subspecialty committee, College of Ophthalmologists, Singapore and the Chairman of Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Optometry Advisory Committee (OAC). Dr Lim initiated the Eagle myopia control programme in 2007 and has performed numerous advanced small incision cataract (phaco-refractive) surgeries with wavefront, toric and mutifocal intraocular lenses, femto-laser bladeless LASIK, Epi-LASIKs and the No Touch all laser Epi-lasik procedures.
