Dr Julian Theng Thiam Siew

Dr Julian Theng Thiam Siew graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1992 with MBBS degree. Obtained post graduate qualifications, MMED (Ophth), FRCS (Edinburgh) and FRCOhpth (London), which included a special module in optics and refraction. As a cornea specialist, Dr. Theng is renowned in the areas of corneal transplants, LASIK & refractive surgery as well as cataract surgery, having performed many of such surgeries.

With special interest in the field of Presbyopia treatments, Dr. Theng is well-regarded for his expertise in performing multifocal Intra-Ocular Lens (IOL) implant surgeries. In 2008, he was selected to be Singapore's representative surgeon to conduct the Phase 4 Clinical FDA Approval Trial for the new Restor +3.00ADD multifocal lens implant and was also Asia's representative to implant the first pair of Acrysof Phakic IOL Lens in Singapore.

A sought-after speaker who has spoken at global conferences, such as the World Ophthalmology Congress and many more. He has travelled the world to lecture and teach on such presbyopia treatments, Dr Theng is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today (CRST) Europe.
