The teachers and staff of Raffles Institution were given an insight into LASIK, Presbyopia and Cataract - a talk presented by Dr Julian Theng of Eagle Eye Centre (EEC) - on 12 May 2010. Following the talk, a team of EEC staff were on-site to provide LASIK, Presbyopia and Cataract eye screening for the teachers and staff. EEC is proud to be the 1st in 188 years of RI’s history to provide this eye screening and is glad for the good feedback on the professional service and advice given to them.

Staff at EEC @ Parkway East was honoured and privileged to have Minister for Health, Khaw Boon Wan, visit our centre on 18th March 2010 during his official visit for the inaugural official ceremony for Parkway East Hospital. Chief Executive Officer of EEC, Dr Lim Wee Kiak, gave Minister a short tour of the clinic.

On 13th Feb, EEC will be participating in the Golf Punk Tournament 2009 held at the Seletar Country Club. As one of the sponsors of the event, EEC will be sponsoring door gifts, prizes for the event, as well as providing a Free Eye Health Screening for all the participants and organisers.

On 18th November 2009, EEC celebrated our 3rd Anniversary with a Media Launch Event introducing 2 new techniques to Refractive Surgery – the Acrysof Cache Lens (Phakic IOL) and “No Touch All Laser” Epi-LASIK. We also took this opportunity to introduce our unique clinical optometry service – ChromaGen Lens for “Academic Skills Disorders”.

| Training Session for "Gift of Sight Mission" to Batam |

Since 2006, Eagle Eye Centre has been collecting used spectacles from the patients. And thus far they have collected over 3000 used spectacles. Recently The Lions Club has appointed Eagle Eye Centre as their professional eye care advisor and the donated spectacles will be put to good use in their upcoming Gift of Sight Mission in Batam.

On 20 July 2008, over 200 Sembawang residents began their Sunday with a morning brisk walking session followed by a morning workout at the Canberra Hard Court. This was part of the program for Sembawang GRC's Racial Harmony Day Celebration. Dr Lim Wee Kiak was the Guest of Honour for this event while Dr Julian Theng was an invited guest speaker who gave the residents an insight on Advances in Cataract, Refractive and Presbyopia Treatments.

On 9th July 2008, Dr Julian Theng presented to his fellow ophthalmologists at Tan Tock Seng Hospital's Continual Medical Education (CME) on the processes and early results of the Phase 4 Clinical Trials on the latest Multifocal Intra-Ocular Lens Implant (Aspheric Restor +3.00 Add). The lecture was jointly received via "Live" video feed with Singapore National Eye Centre's doctors as well.
