About the Acrysof Cache Lens

The Acrysof Cache Lens is designed to reduce or eliminate moderate to high nearsightedness in adults. It works with a patient’s natural lens to focus light onto the retina to correct distance vision.
It is the only phakic lens made entirely from Acrysof Lens Material – a soft, flexible material developed specifically for use in the eye. It is a round lens centred in the eye that focuses the images you see on the back of the eye. This lens was designed with tiny flexible supports called haptics that keep the lens in place once inserted, but do not attach to the eye, The lens can be removed if necessary.
Procedure

The Acrysof Cache Lens is a proven and trusted alternative to the presently highly established Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) by Staar Surgical. Unlike the traditional Implantable Contact Lens, where the intra-collamer lens is placed behind and between the iris and natural lens of the eye, the Acrysof Cache Lens is placed in the
anterior segment of the eye, in front of the iris.
Because the lens is inserted in front of the iris, it is more easily accessible, thus easier to insert, less traumatic and also more easily removable if need be. It also reduced the risk of increased eye pressure post-surgery.
